Selection and contracting of a consulting firm for the elaboration of materials and didactic complexes for teachers and students of general basic education (Premediate Level) of the regular presential offer.

MEDUCA and the OEI, join efforts for the benefit of the Panamanian population and therefore formalize and subscribe the Specific Cooperation Agreement to support specific activities related to component 3 Integral and continuous pedagogical support of the Program "Improving the Efficiency and Quality of the Education Sector"; which will finance: "(i) Actions of pedagogical accompaniment and training in literacy and mathematics, among others; Provision of didactic materials for teachers and students; and adequacy of school furniture; and (ii) The development and implementation of a pedagogical and management intervention focused on the schools that result with the lowest performance according to the learning evaluations carried out by SIMECE. The pedagogical support actions will be based on the Fundamental Learning Rights (DFA)."

Objective: to contribute to the objectives established in the Program "Improving the Efficiency and Quality of the Educational Sector" which among other areas includes: strengthening of reading and writing, scientific and mathematical thinking, social and flexible modalities, which result in competencies and attitudes that favor the performance of our youth and adults in everyday life, inside and outside the official educational centers.

The consulting services ("the services") include: selection of a consulting firm for the elaboration of materials and didactic complexes for teachers and students of basic general education (Premediate level) of the regular classroom offer.

A. GENERAL OBJECTIVES

To elaborate didactic materials and complexes for the last stage of general basic education (Premedia) of the official system, addressed to students and teachers, based on the basic subjects of the curriculum such as Spanish, mathematics, natural sciences, and social sciences: history, geography and civics, after the implementation of a work plan for each subject and comprising the design of the graphic and didactic model, model units, scope and sequence posters, editing, proofreading, style correction and layout.

B. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

To develop the intellectual and conceptual production of educational materials in support of general basic education (Premedia) of the regular presential system directed to students and teachers based on the basic subjects of the curriculum: Spanish, mathematics, natural sciences and social sciences: history, geography and civics, contemplating for its effects the required audiences of methodological guides for the teacher and guides for the student.

Interested consulting firms shall provide information indicating that they are qualified to provide the services.

The consulting firm must include in its expression of interest a cover letter written in Spanish, indicating the full name of the consulting firm, full name of the contact person duly authorized to sign the expression of interest and act on behalf of the firm, address, telephone number, e-mail, information on the organization of the firm and its main areas of activity. It should include a brief description of the firm's general experience and present the legal documents of incorporation of the country in which the firm resides.

The consulting firm should evidence the following experience:

a. With experience of 7 years or more performing work or projects in the education sector.

b. With experience of 3 years or more performing educational materials development projects.

c. With experience of 3 years or more in diagramming and illustration of materials.

d. With a minimum of 5 years of experience working on curricular topics.

e. Experience in curriculum projects or design of educational materials in countries of the Latin American region.
